Office of Student Affairs

Office of Student Affairs

The “Student Disciplinary Office” was established in during NTNU’s inception in 1946 and later renamed the “Office of Student Affairs (OSA)” after the University Act was promulgated in 1994. The mission of OSA is to facilitate students’ life, accommodation, extracurricular activities and physical and mental well-being.

Following the passage of amendments to university organization charter in the 96th university affairs meeting on October 25th, 2006, the following organizations were set up under OSA according to Clause 2, Article 9, for their respective aspects of student affairs: Division of Student Assistance, Division of Student Housing Affairs, Division of Extracurricular Activities, Division of Student Affairs at Gongguan Campus, Division of Student Affairs at Linkou Campus and Health Center, Counseling Center, and Military Instructor Office.

In January 2011, the Preparatory Office of the Center for Holistic Education was founded to promote the service education curriculum and devise holistic education programs. In August 2014, a dedicated Mentors Office was set up to strengthen guidance support by mentors and ensure the implementation of tertiary guidance and counseling—developmental guidance, intervention counseling, and remedial counseling.

In 2015, the Military Instructor Office merged into the dedicated Mentors Office. Meanwhile, the Center for Holistic Education was officially incorporated into the OSU.

On August 1, 2016, the Division of Student Housing Affairs transferred to the Office of General Affairs and was renamed as “Student Housing Center.”
